1. How long have you been delivering neurofeedback? 15 years
2. Sum up neurofeedback in one sentence? Neurofeedback is a type of therapy that trains individuals to regulate their brain activity, it is based on real time monitoring of brain wave patterns using electroencephalogram.
3. What is it about neurofeedback that you love so much? We reach the paths which others can’t – essentially, we achieve things where others have failed.
4. How do you all continue your professional development in this field? We are trained to practitioner level and teaching level in all of our technologies. We are relentless in our quest to continuously improve ourselves. We are not only fastidious in keeping our professional development up to date in an ever-changing environment, but we are also trained to a level where we can teach and mentor other practitioners.
5. How do you assess whether a client is a good candidate for neurofeedback therapy? They have to be aware of what is going on for them and have a level of consciousness. A supportive family for children and adult with willingness to change.
6. How do you monitor client progress during a neurofeedback session? What metrics or observations do you track? We track using the symptom tracker where we can see percentage changes based on our patients’ input.
7. How do you manage clients who might be sceptical or anxious about neurofeedback therapy? Everything we do is evidence based. So when people are sceptical, we talk about the evidence. We go back to the mapping process and talk about how as human beings we are electrical. We work really hard to provide an environment which is completely non-threatening, or any different to sitting in your living room. Everything we are doing is below conscious control.
8. Where do you see The BrainCollective in five years? I envisage a multi-site operation controlled by a mother hub with more established links globally.
9. What is it about The BrainCollective that is so uniquely special? The fusion between the world’s best technology and the human touch to optimise a brain and a life.
